The weather outside was far from frightful, and that led to a delightful turnout for the annual Johnson City Christmas Parade last Saturday.

Those who lined the route that snaked its way through downtown from the campus of ETSU to the old burley lot on the corner of East Main and State of Franklin were treated to an entertaining event. The marching bands from Science Hill and ETSU both performed amidst a string of floats with a Storybook Christmas theme. The Milligan College cheerleaders took part in the event, as did the winners of the Miss Johnson City and Miss Historic Jonesborough pageants. The event was capped off with the arrival of Santa Claus.

Following the parade, may of those in attendance found their way over to the Pavilion at Founders Park for the Whoville Village, which included several fun activities for kids and their families.

Don and Sue Lockmiller scouted out a spot by the Christmas tree to view the parade along with their dog Charlie.
