During the month of April, the Kiwanis Club of Johnson City held a virtual fundraiser to raise money for One Acre Café.
Last Friday, the club presented a check for $7,505 to the restaurant, which routinely serves hundreds of meals per week, many of them free of charge to those in need. The Johnson City Kiwanis Club Foundation matched the first $2,000 in donations, which were collected online via a PayPal account.
The Johnson City Firefighters Association also contributed funds to One Acre Café during the fundraiser. To learn more about One Acre Café, visit www.oneacrecafe.org.
