Jerome Julian

The United Way of Washington County Tennessee announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Jerome Julian President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 17, 2017.

Julian brings nearly 30 years of diverse leadership to United Way of Washington County Tennessee. He most recently served as President of the Lakeway Area for TriSummit Bank. Prior to assuming that position, Julian served in a number of capacities over the course of his career including Northeast Tennessee Market President for SunTrust Bank, Private Wealth Management Medical Specialty Group Team Lead and Business Banking Line of Business Manager for East Tennessee region, and Retail Area Manager for Hamblen, Knox and Sevier Counties.

Julian is a graduate of the University of Tennessee Knoxville, where he earned a baccalaureate degree in business administration with a major in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and also a graduate of the Consumer Banking Association Graduate School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia.

Julian has been an active volunteer in the Tri-Cities and serving on the American Heart Association’s Tri-Cities Executive Leadership Team and being involved with the ETSU Foundation. He has also held leadership positions with several other community and civic organizations including United Way of Washington County, 2011 corporate fundraising chair for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2011 team membership chair and board member for the Johnson City, Washington County, Jonesborough Chamber of Commerce, and board member for the Kingsport Office of Small Business Development and Entrepreneurship.

Julian stated, “I am proud to be able to accept a position where I am doing something about which I am passionate.  I am looking forward to using my talents to best serve the agencies who in turn serve those most in need in our community.”

Board Chair Mark Finucane shared, “The Board is delighted to announce Jerome Julian as our new president & CEO.  Jerome is an outstanding individual and will be a tremendous asset to the United Way of Washington County, TN. We look forward to working with him as we continue to focus on the causes that make our community a better place to live, work and grow.”

Julian succeeds Lester Lattany who said, “I am excited that the United Way of Washington County TN Board Directors has unanimously selected Jerome as the new president & CEO for United Way of Washington County TN.  I am confident that his leadership experience and personality will ensure continued success for this Community Impact organization which serves Johnson City, Jonesborough, and Washington County. I look forward to hearing of all the great accomplishments and growth that will occur during his tenure.”
