The Founders Park entrance is a gateway to a Winter Wonderland filled with 65 Christmas trees.

As far as contingency plans go, the idea cooked up by the Blue Plum Organization in conjunction with leaders in Johnson City government couldn’t have turned out much better.

Christmas in the Park – a display featuring 65 brightly decorated Christmas Trees in Johnson City’s Founders Park – debuted last Saturday night in lieu of the annual Johnson City Christmas Parade. Businesses and organizations pitched in to decorate the trees, which are all lit with strands of brightly colored lights.

The trees will remain up until Dec. 31, and the public is invited to stroll through the Winter Wonderland free of charge while maintaining proper social distancing.

Ryan and Stephanie Drebing brought their children – Liam and Charlotte – to the park to see the trees.
Stephanie, Madeline, Jaden, Jonah, Jeremiah and Mariah Anderson cross the Rotary Bridge to see more of the Christmas trees in Founders Park.
