The action on the field Friday night at David Crockett High School matched the hype off of it as Daniel Boone’s Trailblazers won the 46th annual Musket Bowl 14-10 over the Pioneers. In a must-win situation for the ‘Blazers, Boone’s freshman running back Charlie Cole provided the bulk of the offensive firepower, rushing for 192 yards and both Boone touchdowns. The ‘Blazers’ defense did the rest, holding Crockett to 233 yards of total offense. Boone finishes the regular season 5-5 and 3-3 in conference, and the win gave the team the third seed in Region 1. They’ll visit 7-3 Knox Halls Friday, while Crockett (4-6, 3-3) will travel to 7-3 Gibbs. This is the first season both teams have qualified for the playoffs in the same year.
