Boys & Girls Club of Johnson City/Washington awards were presented to 18 young people for their work and involvement with club programs. Receiving awards were: Sportsmanship Award Gabe Jackson and Isaiah Garland: Gamesroom Player of the Year Nolan Counts and Terra Rhea: Artist of the Year, Kyela Stephens and Ayden Kirkland: Scholastic Achievement Award, Jayden Howell and Evan Pugh: Power Hour Hero, Lucas Bouthillier: Technology Award, Kallie Morrissey: Most Improved Award, Dalton Hilton, Terrica Britt: Most Helpful Award, Rylee Burton and Meranda Trivett: Citizenship Award, Edward Sawyer and Aurora Rodriguez: Youth of the Year MaKaila Carlisle.
Staff, club members, families and community supporters of The Boys & Girls Club of Johnson City/Washington County enjoyed their annual dinner and awards celebration for 2016 at Wesley United Methodist Church last Thursday evening.
Eighteen club members were honored for their outstanding efforts. Ten coaches and volunteers received awards along with twenty five community supporters. The night ended with two staff and two board members being honored. Micah Ridley, 2017 board chair, summarized the evening for the speakers and honorees when he said, “those who touch and are touched by the club and it’s efforts continue to see and be shown love, hope and community.”
