Science Hill swimming wraps up great season

The Science Hill swimming and diving team wrapped up another fantastic season with a sixth-place combined finish in the state swimming meet. The Science Hill swimming and diving team concluded another successful season recently at the TSSAA State Swimming Meet.

The boys came in 13th place in the state while the girls finished ninth, good enough for a sixth-place finish in the combined standings. Haley Altman earned all-state honors in the 100-yard breaststroke and also garnered all-American consideration with her strong performance.

Nine Hilltoppers earned All-American Academic Awards: Tarek Atyia, Megan Barnes, Jackson Breeding, Grace Chintalekha, Jacob Clemons, Lexi Gay, Morgan Misenar, Landon Potter and Nour Shams.

Locally, Science Hill extended its dominance by winning a 14th consecutive Northeast Tennessee Regional Meet. The girls locked up their 14th straight regional championship while the boys won their 13th regional title in the last 14 seasons.
