For the first time in four years, the Science Hill football team picked up a victory over the Elizabethton Cyclones on Friday night.

Big plays on defense and special teams helped the Hilltoppers build a 14-0 lead, and they held on to win 17-7 in front of a capacity crowd at Citizens Bank Stadium in Elizabethton. The hard-fought opener to the high school football season was the latest installment of a rivalry between the two schools that dates back almost a century.
