Last week, Science Hill celebrated its Winter Homecoming, otherwise known as “Hoop-Coming.”
The two-day event featured a Friday pep rally, the induction of a new class into the school’s sports hall of fame on Saturday morning and the crowning of a winter homecoming king and queen during Saturday night’s basketball game against Gate City.
Clay McKenzie, a baseball player, was crowned as this year’s king. Last year’s king – Drew Morrison – was on hand to crown McKenzie while last year’s queen Symantha Fugate passed the crown on to Lily Cullop, who plays basketball for the Science Hill girls.
