Employees of Johnson City’s Parks and Recreation Department were joined by other city employees and members of the community at a party in honor of Jim Hughes, who recently retired after 33 years of service to the city.
Hughes started out in 1987 as a golf maintenance worker before eventually rising through the ranks to become Director of Golf in Johnson City, where he oversaw the operations of Pine Oaks and Buffalo Valley. Hughes wrapped up his 33-year career with the city as an assistant to Parks and Recreation director James Ellis.
