Science Hill football coaches and players hosted a free camp for young people in Johnson City last week.

The camp gave kids an opportunity to get on the field inside Kermit Tipton Stadium and go through drills. The campers got some pointers from Science Hill players and coaches as they completed a variety of blocking, tackling, catching, throwing and running drills.

This year’s camp comes in advance of the inaugural season of a city-wide youth football program that will be run through the Johnson City Parks and Recreation Program. The league will be open to players between the ages of 6 and 11.
