Four Daniel Boone athletes signed the dotted line for their colleges on Friday during a ceremony at the high school. Football players Justin Turner, Justin Clark and Ethan Harrell all inked papers, as did baseball player Ian Weir. Turner chose Union College, while Clark and Harrell will continue their careers at the University of the Cumberlands. Weir will continue his career from the pitchers mound at Milligan College.

Daniel Boone senior offensive lineman Justin Turner signed on for four years with Union College in Barbourville Ky. The former Daniel Boone team captain was a leader on a Daniel Boone team that reached the first round of the TSSAA Playoffs, after a 1-9 junior season.

The senior will play the join his college squad looking to cause havoc as a defensive hybrid, he said. He and fellow teammate Justin Clark will look to room together during their first season.

A capstone of Justin Clark overcoming two knee surgeries on both MPFL ligaments – one during 8th grade and another that cost him his sophomore season — to reach the next level occurred on Friday afternoon. The team captain signed to continue his career at the University of the Cumberlands along with friends and family inside Daniel Boone’s little theatre.

The senior pitcher sealed up his college deal before the first swing of the season when he chose Milligan College on Friday. He said that getting his decision done will help him focus on his senior season on the diamond.
