A crowd of more than 200 members of the Tri-Cities business community gathered at Millennium Centre Oct. 14 to fete 40 of the region’s rising stars at the 24th annual 40 Under Forty gala hosted by The Business Journal of Tri-Cities, TN/VA.

“You are 40 young men and women who are making a difference in your home and your workplace and in your community,” Dr. Bill Greer, president of Milligan College told the honorees in his keynote speech. “You are 40 of the reasons we have a bright future as we look toward a tomorrow that is increasingly interconnected and globally competitive.”

A complete list of the 2016 class of 40 honorees is available at 40under.com. The class will be featured in the December 2016 issue of The Business Journal.

“These 40 individuals have distinguished themselves not only by their business acumen, which is considerable, but also by their unwavering commitment to serve the communities in which they live and work,” Scott Robertson, managing editor of The Business Journal, said. “They are the next generation of leaders, and they are proof that we are in good hands moving forward.”

The 2016 40 Under Forty gala was sponsored by Blackburn, Childers and Steagall, PLC; Hicok, Fern and Co., CPAs; The Milligan MBA; Mountain States Health Alliance; Saratoga Technologies and Wellmont Health System. The Carnegie Hotel hosted the individual interviews and photo shoots for the honorees.
