The Daniel Boone JROTC has received the Marine Corps Reserve Association Award for the eighth time since 2010

Daniel Boone Marine Corps JROTC has been recognized as the recipient of the Marine Corps Reserve Association Award as the top program in the Southeastern United States. 

This is the unit’s eighth MCRA award since 2010. Additionally, the program received its designation as a Naval Honor School as one of the top 10 percent of all programs nationwide. This is Daniel Boone’s 23rd Consecutive year of earning the Naval Honor School Award. 

Boone’s Jaylee Hamilton earned the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross, making her the sixth person in school history to receive the honor.

The Legion of Valor Bronze Cross was awarded to Cadet Major Jaylee Hamilton, a senior at Boone. Hamilton, the current commanding officer of Boone’s JROTC, is the sixth person in the history of the school to receive this recognition. 

Criteria for receiving this award includes maintaining an academic class standing in the top 25 percent of their school, demonstrate exemplary military and academic leadership while enrolled as a cadet in their senior year, possess qualities of leadership in scholastic activities, complete community and civic service hours, and maintain athletic participation.
