Once again, folks came from around the region to the rolling hills of Gray last week to soak in a week full of fun at the Appalachian Fair.

The event featured its usual heaping helping of thrill rides, concerts and contests. The Drew Exposition brought a Double-Double Ferris Wheel to Gray for the first time, and the new ride proved to be a hit.

Ribbons were handed out rewarding hard work on farms and inside kitchens and classrooms around the area. From state-of-the-art robots to prize-winning livestock, there was something for everyone on display at this year’s fair.

The Fairest of the Fair and Little Miss contests were once again very popular. Sarah Grace Garland of Limestone was this year’s Fairest of the Fair winner while Jaeceerae Carr (Teen Miss), Leslie Carrillo (Little Miss Pre-Teen), Sophie Morelock (Little Miss), Hadley Vanover (Tiny Miss) and Charleigh Keith (Wee Miss) were crowned winners in their respective divisions.
