Local artists Josh Mancuso and Jeremiah Caleb recently screened their documentary, Coming Home, at the Writer’s Guild Theater in Beverly Hills.
The film follows Northeast Tennessee native Jeremiah Caleb’s journey to India as he explores his late father’s heritage. Jeremiah set out in his father’s footsteps with intentions of finding inspiration for a book he was writing about his father. After 40 days, what he found was a calling to create the Caleb Hope Foundation, an organization working with orphans in the slums of India.
“It was an honor to tell the story of Jeremiah and his father,” said Mancuso, the film’s Director. “It was a labor of love for everyone involved. Our editor, Will Morris, did an outstanding job of piecing together a complex narrative. It’s rewarding to produce a movie that has a bigger purpose, and I think we’ve all been inspired by the impact on Indian children who are desperate for hope. I’m grateful to be part of it.”
For more than a decade, the Caleb Hope Foundation has been providing food, education, and medical resources to the orphans of the lowest class in India. Mancuso and Caleb plan to screen the film in Northeast Tennessee this fall.
