Science Hill started strong, and Nate Conner slammed the door on the Hilltoppers’ fifth consecutive baseball district championship on Saturday.
Science Hill plated all eight of their runs in the first inning. Conner came on in relief of Major Osbolt and allowed just one run over the final four innings to nail down the victory.
Jake Bedard had three hits for the Hilltoppers, who will face Jefferson County in the Region 1-4A tournament on Friday night at TVA Credit Union Ballpark. Ben Stevens homered for the Trailblazers, who will play District 2-4A champion Sevier County on Friday in Johnson City.
