Head over to the Funny Farm for a day of UNICORNS! Your littles can ride, feed, and pet our miniature ponies turned magically into unicorns. We’ll have unicorn themed shirts and accessories in the store as well.
Admission is $5. Unicorn rides are $5. Bags of grain are $2. Pay at the door. Cash or card.

September 21, 2023The Heritage Alliance is excited to partner with Create Appalachia and Vintage Kitchen Cast Iron and Collectibles to bring a Cast Iron Clinic to Create Appalachia’s Johnson City office.
Katie Hoffman and Brett Tiller of Vintage Kitchen Cast Iron buy, sell, trade, and restore cast iron professionally. Katie and Brett will lead a discussion about selecting the right pans for your kitchen and show you how to clean and maintain your collection—old or new. They’ll bring their portable cast iron “museum” and share a bit about cast iron history.
Do you have a family heirloom or flea market find that needs a little cleanup? Bring it along and they may be able to tell you something about its age and origins, as well as whether it needs restoration.
Bring your questions—and any pieces of cast iron that you might have questions about—to the workshop from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, September 21st at Create Appalachia’s office in Johnson City. If you’re thinking about purchasing a piece, we’ll have a few items for sale.
Everyone welcome, from beginners to collectors. Tickets for this workshop are $10.00 and are available at jonesborough.com/tickets or by calling the Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423-753-9580.

September 23, 2023Grab your gear and join us for an Outdoor Nerf Battle! All participants must come prepared with their own nerf equipment and protective eye wear. Darts will be supplied.
Ages 6-12 will battle from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm

September 23, 2023Come to an open house hosted by the Middle Nolichucky Watershed Alliance and Tusculum University’s Conservation Core student organization. The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, from 5-7 p.m. at the Doak House Museum, 690 Erwin Highway, on the university’s grounds.
In addition to discovering more about the MNWA, attendees will be able to participate in a bonfire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. All of the ingredients for making s’mores will be available, and the alliance will provide water and mini soft drinks. Guests are also invited to enjoy the outdoor areas on campus with activities such as Critters at the Creek and naturalist-led hikes of the university’s Level 1 arboretum and new nature trail.
Attendees who want to join the alliance will have an opportunity to become a member at the open house.

The Friends of the Washington County-Jonesborough Library hosts this fall fundraising event – all proceeds go to support free library programs for all ages! The sale will be hosted from September 28 – September 30 in the Jonesborough Library parking lot with a special preview event for Friends of the Library members. The sale schedule is as follows:
Thursday, September 28, 9 am – 8 pm
Friday, September 29, 9 am – 6 pm
Saturday, September 30, 9 am – 2 pm
