September 5, 2019If you have an extra hour to invest, you can improve your computer skills by attending a free tech class at the Gray or Jonesborough libraries during September.
These classes are offered through a State of Tennessee Grant for Technology Training .
Many classes are Basic, but a few are Advanced. Advanced classes are designed for those who are building upon existing basic computer skills. To register or for more information call one of the libraries: Gray (423) 477-1550 or Jonesborough (423) 753-1800.
The classes are from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. You may bring your own laptop or borrow one from the library for this class.

September 6, 2019Senior Services at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert St., will host two Friday Night Dances in September for those 50 and older.
Shooter Band will perform Friday, Sept. 6 and Kids Our Age will be featured Friday, Sept. 20.
Both dances will be held 7-10 p.m. in the MPCC gymnasium and dining room. Cost is $5 per person. SilverSneakers® members pay $3. Please register at MPCC, but there is no registration deadline.

September 8, 2019The Friends of the Washington County Libraries invite you to join them for the 15th Annual Bocce Ball Tournament and covered dish meal on Sunday, September 8th! This is a fun, annual event that helps raise money for library programs. No experience is required to play, and the fee is only $10 per player. Please bring a potluck dish to share!
The event begins at 2:30 p.m. followed by the meal at 5:00 p.m. Spectators and cheering squads are welcome to attend. A prize will be offered for the “Best Dressed Bocce Team,” so dress to impress!
