The David Crockett Pioneers had a season for the ages in 2018, capping off the first undefeated regular season in school history with a trip to the state quarterfinals before dropping a 23-12 decision to Knox Central, the eventual 5A state champs. The Science Hill Hilltoppers bounced back from a rocky start in 2018 by closing the regular season with a four-game winning streak that allowed them to qualify for the Class 6A playoffs.
