A handful of local high school athletes were honored recently as all-state selections by the Tennessee Sports Writers Association.

In baseball, Science Hill’s Brandon Feathers earned a spot on the Class AAA all-state team. Feathers was one of only three pitchers from around the state to earn a spot on the AAA squad. The righty posted a 9-2 record with a 1.15 ERA while helping the Hilltoppers advance to the state tournament.

Meanwhile, Walker Page was the lone soccer player from our area to make the TSWA all-state squad. Page helped University High advance to the regional semifinals. The junior forward scored 16 goals and assisted on 14 others while helping the Junior Bucs to a 10-4 record.

Several local track athletes were honored by the TSWA as well. Jeb Jones and T.J. Patton of Science Hill earned all-state honors along with Caitlin Cutshall and Maria Chellah of Daniel Boone and UH’s Aldan Costello.
