Washington County/Johnson City EMS announces employee awards

The Washington County/Johnson City EMS recently presented its employee of the year awards to deserving first responders. Makenzie Duncan, Laura Ward, Paige Bradford, Capt. Phillip Ramsey, Sherry Frazier and John Manukyan were this year’s honorees.

Duncan was recognized as the Advanced EMT of the Year thanks to her determination and stellar performance serving on the A shift with Medic 6 in Boones Creek. Ward was honored as the Rescue EMT of the Year as her focus on training opportunities patient care helped her stand out while working with the Rescue 4 team at EMS Station 4 in Gray.

Bradford was the Paramedic EMT of the Year. In addition to doing excellent work as a Tactical/SWAT Paramedic, she also serves in the U.S. Naval Reserves. Ramsey was named Officer of the Year after many years of experience. He has served in almost every capacity in the EMS and currently leads by example at his post in Downtown Johnson City.

Frazier was named Administrator of the Year for her expert handling of everyday operations and Manukyan was honored with the Pride, Compassion & Courage Award for upholding the department’s core values. Manukyan is a relatively new EMT who serves with Medic 6 in Boones Creek.
