The Tennessee Department of Revenue announced that Tennessee’s Sales Tax Holiday will be held Friday, July 28 and ends on Sunday, July 30.
Items that are included in the Sales Tax-Free Holiday include clothing priced at $100 or less, school supplies that are $100 or less and computers that are $1,500 or less.
The Johnson City Mall will be hosting a special women’s expo on the same weekend, in hopes of reaching parents that are taking their little ones shopping for those special back to school deals.
“We are very excited about the upcoming Tax Free Weekend Holiday,” Johnson City Mall General Manager Tembra Aldridge said. “Our stores are getting geared up to assist those looking for just the right outfits for the upcoming school year.
“In addition, we will be having a Women’s Expo where there will be over 20+ vendors. We would love to have families come out and enjoy the day at the Johnson City Mall and save those dollars by shopping that weekend.”
It won’t just be national chains that are eligible for tax-free weekend purchases. Anywhere that sells clothing, school supplies and electronics, also qualifies for tax-exempt status, as long as the item qualifies.
