Science Hill super sophomore Jenna Hutchins scored another big victory last Saturday in the Foot Locker South Regional, earning her another trip to Foot Locker’s national meet in San Diego on Dec. 14.

Hutchins traversed the 5K course at McAlpine Creek Greenway Park in Charlotte, N.C., last Saturday in a time of 16:53.1, allowing her to cross the finish line over a second ahead of runner-up Ava Dobson of Greenville, S.C. Hutchins will be returning to the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals for the second year in a row.

Last year, Hutchins qualified for the national event as a freshman by finishing eighth place in the South Regional. Once she got to San Diego, Hutchins raced her way to a ninth-place finish, good enough to earn All-American honors.

Hutchins will race against top runners from around the nation on Dec. 14 at San Diego’s Balboa Park.
