For whatever reason, Science Hill pitchers were feeling particularly stingy on Tuesday, April 6.

Torbett struck out six batters and only issued three walks in Science Hill’s 11-0, mercy-rule win over the Pioneers. He also came up big at the plate with a couple hits. The Hilltoppers are still undefeated in league play and are tied atop the standings with Daniel Boone.

On the baseball field, Cole Torbett threw a no-hitter during a five-inning victory over David Crockett. Meanwhile, Science Hill softball pitcher Bree Presnell hurled a perfect game in a win over Volunteer.

Presnell retired all 21 batters she faced during her team’s 9-0 victory over the Falcons. A perfect game is fairly uncommon, but one school recording a no-hitter and a perfect game on the same day is particularly noteworthy.

The Lady Hilltoppers are in third place at 3-2. The undefeated Lady Pioneers of Crockett are atop the standings, one game ahead of 4-1 Daniel Boone.
