Memorial service Sunday at Munsey UMC
The News and Neighbor wishes to express its sympathy to Congressman Phil Roe and his entire family upon learning of the passing of Dr. Roe’s wife, Pam. Below is a news release from the Congressman’s office.
Pamela Roe, beloved wife of Congressman Phil Roe, passed away today, March 5, 2015. Pam was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, friend and philanthropist who will be sorely missed by every person who had the distinct privilege of knowing her. The family is grateful for the support, thoughts and prayers of so many and asks for privacy during this extremely difficult time.
Receiving of friends will be on Sunday, March 8th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 East Market Street, Johnson City, TN 37601. A service will follow at 3 p.m.
A reception honoring Pam’s life will be held after the service in the Christian Life Center until 7 p.m.
Pam Roe was born and raised in Johnson City, TN. She was a graduate of Science Hill High School in 1974. After high school she earned her LPN, after which she went to work for the Med Center OBGYN department from 1978-1996.
She was a member of Munsey Memorial Church. Pam was a board member at the Washington County Humane Society and active in pet adoptions throughout the area. She was also a member of the Washington County Republican Women.
Pam loved the outdoors and the East TN Mountains. She enjoyed hiking, camping, swimming and jogging. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife.
The family prefers, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in the memory of Pam Roe to the Humane Society of Washington County, P.O. Box 4090, Johnson City, TN 37602, where Pam served on the board of directors and volunteered much of her time.
