Last Friday evening Milligan College celebrated its Sesquicentennial Gala in grand style with an evening of recognition and a narrative history through the years in themed music to a sold-out attendance of alumni and honored guests. It was a full house in the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse as guests enjoyed a delicious sit-down dinner. Milligan President Dr. Bill Greer welcomed all to the Gala and weekend homecoming activities.
Since 1866, Milligan has been noted for its role in preparing men and women to be servant leaders throughout the communities they serve in their chosen professions. The school continues to be a nationally-recognized Christian liberal arts college
Retired faculty Drs. Lee and Pat Magness were recognized as Milligan’s 2016 Distinguished Alumni, and former First Lady Clarinda Jeanes received the Hardin “Spirit of Milligan” Award.
During the homecoming weekend in addition to the Sesquicentennial Gala, an original theatrical performance of Milligan’s 150-year history, art exhibitions and the annual parade were held ending with a special Sunday worship service.
