Johnson City Public Library Director Julia Turpin is excited about a new content streaming service that is now available to the community through the JCPL.

Johnson City Public Library (JCPL) has added hoopla digital, the popular content streaming service, to its digital offerings. Library cardholders have free access to hoopla digital’s collection of over 850,000 ebooks, audiobooks, comics, movies, TV shows, and music.

JCPL Director Julia Turpin is excited that the library is able to offer more free digital content to cardholders. “We have been thrilled by folks’ excitement and interest in our digital collections, which have grown a lot in this last year! We wanted to give people even more digital options, and thanks to hoopla digital, we can.”

For those not familiar with the service, hoopla digital has pioneered a unique model in which library users do not have to place holds or wait for items to become available. All of hoopla digital’s content can be borrowed immediately, removing availability constraints and maximizing the power of digital content and distribution. JCPL cardholders will be able to borrow four items per month.

Content can be streamed from any computer, TV, or mobile device by downloading the hoopla digital app for iOS, Android, AppleTV, Chromecast or Roku. hoopla digital focuses on the latest browser, phone, tablet and TV products to deliver the best possible experience for library users.

The first step in using hoopla digital is having a valid library card. Call 423.434.4450 or visit jcpl.org to sign up for one.
