The records keep on falling and the accolades keep rolling in for the Johnson City Cardinals, who wrapped up a big week on Monday when it was announced TVA Credit Union Ballpark had been voted the best rookie league ballpark in America for the second year in a row.

The Cards’ home field won a fan vote to claim the honor from Baseball Digest. This news came on the heels of new attendance records the week before. The Cards welcomed 3,687 fans through the turnstiles on July 2 for a game against the Greeneville Reds, the most fans to ever see a Cardinals game at TVA Credit Union Ballpark.

That record lasted all of 24 hours as the July 3 contest against Greeneville – which featured postgame fireworks – drew 3,947 through the gates.

“We can’t thank this community enough for giving us back to back record nights here at TVA Credit Union Ballpark,” said Johnson City Cardinals general manager Zac Clark. “When we got to work this off-season, we knew this year would be special but the support this community has shown us has completely blown us away.”
