The atmosphere was festive on Saturday at WF Stables in Jonesborough last Saturday as riders and their horses gathered for the annual Saddle Up for St. Jude fundraiser.
The Halloween costume contest is always a highlight of the event, which has raised well over $100,000 for the patients at St. Jude Children’s Hospital over the years. Riders spend a good deal of the fall securing donations for St. Jude, and the event also features silent auction with all proceeds going to the children’s hospital.
The final donation totals were not available by press time, but WF Stables owner Patti Walters said the event has raised well over $20,000 in each of the past two years.
