Hilltoppers score dominant win at Mike Mills Invitational

The Science Hill boys golf team began its defense of the state golf championship with a convincing victory in the Mike Mills Invitational Tournament, which was held last week at The Country Club in Morristown. The Hilltoppers fired a team score of 307, good enough to give them a 23-shot win over runner-up Morristown West.

The defending large school state golf champions are off to a hot start this season.

Science Hill’s boys posted a team score of 307 to win the Mike Mills Invitational at The Country Club in Morristown last week, easily outpacing runner-up Morristown West by 23 strokes.

Terun Hoskere led the way for the Hilltoppers with a 1-under 71, good enough to capture medalist honors. Carter Counts and Ross Boehling fired matching rounds of 77 for Science Hill, which is looking to defend its state title under the direction of head coach Kevin Vannoy.
