General Shale teamed up with the Johnson City Cardinals to honor local teachers and educators during the Cardinals’ matchup with the Princeton Rays on Friday, Aug. 4. The fourth annual General Shale History & Hero Night — held at Howard Johnson Field at the TVA Credit Union Ballpark — recognized eight of the area’s finest educators for their exceptional service to students in the community. General Shale CEO Charles Smith and Vice President Mark Kinser presented commemorative brick sculptures to Amber Bacon, Ridgeview Elementary School; Sharon Bishop, David Crockett High School; Shelia Clark, Daniel Boone High School; Peggy Crumwell, retired (North Side Elementary School); Vincent Dial, retired (North Side Elementary School); Julia Henry, Lake Ridge Elementary School; Brooke Price, Jonesborough Middle School; and Faye Rutledge, Science Hill High School, at each half-inning.
