Historic Downtown Jonesborough will be filled with ghosts, ghouls, and everything in between on Saturday, October 27 with the Haunted Half Marathon and Annual Halloween Haunts and Happenings. There will be something offered for everyone and every age as Tennessee’s Oldest Town celebrates Halloween.

Kick off the day by taking part in the 10th Annual Haunted Half Marathon at 10 a.m. This race has been named by Runners World as one of the Top 20 Perfect Half Marathons and Top 10 Awesome Race Shirts. If running 13 miles is a little scary, you can gather some friends and choose the Boo to Brew Relay option presented by S. E. Callahan. There is also a Monster Mile for young runners this year starting at 10:30 a.m. Also enjoy music from Seven Mile Mushroom in front of the Courthouse during the event. For more information on the race, please visit werunevents.com.

Jonesborough has hosted Halloween Haunts and Happenings for over 40 years and the event provides fun for the whole family. From treat stops, activities, games, music and more, it will all be happening throughout the day from 4 to 8 p.m.

The Spooky Pooch Palooza will begin at 4 p.m. in front of the Courthouse. Bring your pups down for doggie trick-or-treating and a costume contest. The costume contest will be offered for small and large dogs and prizes will be awarded for the following categories: Funniest, Scariest, Most Creative, Best Dog/Owner Combo and Best Dog Pair/Team.

The Food City Costume Contest is returning this year and will take place starting at 6 p.m. on the Main Stage in front of the Courthouse. Prizes and gift certificates will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the following age groups: 3 and under, 4-6, 7-9, 10-17, 18 & up and Group Category.

The Flashlight Haunted Egg Hunt will end the evening and is the perfect activity for children 10 and up starting at 7:30 p.m. in Mill Spring Park. Bring a flashlight and search the park for hidden black and orange eggs filled with candy. You might bump in to some spooky characters along the way, so be on the lookout!

Parking and shuttle service will be offered during this event and is recommended. Parking is available at Jonesborough Elementary School for $5/car with free shuttle to and from the Jonesborough Visitors Center.
