Eleven young ladies will be presented at the 2019 Debutante Cotillion Ball June 15 at the Holiday Inn in Johnson City. They have participated in a seven-month program that has included community service, cultural education and enrichment events.
Nya Conley, Yabre Garcia, Sian Gardner, Gianna Grazionale, Imani Hagler, Jadah Henderson, Aliyanna Hill, Devasaree Redd, Aviyonna Stafford, Aaliyah Townes and Quiyana Whitney are the 11 young ladies that will be presented on June 15.
The first Debutante Cotillion Ball was held in 2005 with 14 debutantes. The 11 debutantes this year will make a total of 71 young ladies that have gone through the program, which is held every three years. The debutantes have to maintain a certain GPA, be active in their community or church and present two letters of recommendation from a teacher to the eligible.
The committee members are Angelitti Bradley, Lisa Black, Anna Collie, Christa Reid and Teleah Rogers. The goal for the committee is to instill confidence, dignity and self-esteem. The committee would like to express its sincere appreciation to the debutantes, escorts and their parents as well as workshop presenters, friends, churches, businesses and organizations who provided their time and support to the program.
