Daniel Boone goes the distance in district track meet

The Daniel Boone boys distance runners turned in a dominant performance at the Big 11 Track & Field Championships in Kingsport last weekend, helping power the Trailblazers to a runner-up team finish.

The Boone boys comprised the top three positions in all three distance events as Conner Wingfield, Levi Streeval and Luke Mussard finished 1-2-3 in the 3200 meters, 1600 meters, and 800 meters. Wingfield won the 3200 meters, Streeval won the 1600 meters and Mussard won the 800 meters.

Boone’s girls won the 4×800 relay, as did the boys. Eli Penix was also a double winner in the shot and discus.

Camryn Wingfield ran on Boone’s winning 4×800 relay team.
