Hauldren took over for Travis Mains at Boone while Gordon succeeds Marty Story at Crockett.

Hauldren was the JV boys’ coach at Boone and also served as a varsity assistant coach under Chris Brown. He has also coached freshman baseball and been an assistant football coach for Jeremy Jenkins for the past five years.

“I would like to thank Mrs. Halliburton, Tim Campbell, and Danny Good for this opportunity to lead an established, tradition-rich program,” Hauldren said. “Having been a coach at Daniel Boone for the past six years, I am aware of the community pride and support. I will continue to try to build on the success this program has obtained over the past decade. I am honored to be the new head girls basketball coach at Daniel Boone High School.”

Gordon was also an assistant coach for the boys’ team at Crockett before landing the girls’ job last week.

Gordon started his varsity coaching career as the head coach of the boys team at University High in 1998. He also coached at Morristown West and Elizabethton before landing at Crockett as an assistant. Gordon has an overall varsity coaching record of 212-156.

“I’m honored and excited to be named the head girls’ basketball coach at David Crockett High School,” Gordon said. “While it is expected to be an adjustment, I am ready to take on the challenge of the change from coaching boys to coaching girls.”
