The Boys & Girls Club of Johnson City/Washington County recently held its Annual Dinner, which commemorated the successes the club achieved in 2017.

Community partners, staff, the board of directors, parents and club members were on hand to give and receive awards for positive actions toward the club. Almost 200 attendees came out to give support for this annual event. They enjoyed a night with food from Olive Garden served by members of Wesley United Methodist Church, which hosted the event.

There were seven speakers, including Youth of the Year Terica Britt and Chet Nichols, a regional representative for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The speakers shared what the club means to them and to the community at large.

The staff honored 19 members of the club with awards for their outstanding participation throughout 2017, and community partners and volunteers were honored for the services they provide to the Club.

Staff members Megan Baskett and Lauren Dugger were presented with leadership awards while board members Bob Sampson, Laura Levine and Micah Ridley were also presented awards for their support and leadership.

Josh Gibbons, the incoming Board Chair, ended the event with closing remarks. The Annual Dinner continues to be a wonderful opportunity to show the improvements and accomplishments of the Boys & Girls Club.
