The sunset over Nathan Hale Stadium last Friday night was picturesque, but for Daniel Boone fans, it didn’t hold a candle to the beauty of the numbers on the scoreboard at the end of the game. When the final horn sounded, the Trailblazers remained undefeated after a hard-fought 22-14 victory over Science Hill.

The game hinged on a spectacular defensive play near the end of the first half. The Hilltoppers were pinned deep in their own territory when Braden Blankenship sacked Science Hill’s quarterback near the goal line, forcing a fumble that was recovered by teammate Luke Scott for a touchdown.
