Due to a postponement earlier this season, Science Hill and Daniel Boone squared off twice in the span of four days. The Science Hill boys and the Boone girls were able to sweep their way through key Big 7 Conference games on Friday and Monday to solidify their respective conference title hopes.
The Hilltoppers picked up a convincing 61-35 win over the Trailblazers at home on Friday before making the short trip to Gray on Monday and holding on for a 66-56 triumph that left them tied atop the Big 7 standings with Dobyns-Bennett.
Meanwhile, the Lady Trailblazers went on the road last Friday and scored a 51-46 win before returning home and collecting a 51-49 victory in order to remain unbeaten in league play. The Lady ‘Blazers now have a two-game lead over Science Hill as the regular season hits the homestretch.
Jerriah Love scored 10 points for the Science Hill boys on Friday before dropping 18 points in Monday’s win. Boone’s Jared Lawson had 14 points in each game.
Boone’s Macie Culbertson scored 12 points on Friday and led all scorers with 17 on Monday. Alasia Smith scored 19 points and Friday and 15 more on Monday to lead the Lady Hilltoppers.
