Battle of the Build coming April 23

0

Join the Johnson City Area Home Builders Association for the 5th annual ECU Battle of the Build competition on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Northeast State Community College’s Technical Education Complex.

This free event is a much-anticipated competition for local high school CTE students to design and build projects to be judged by nationally recognized judges at the event. The goal of this event is to encourage students to get excited and interested in trade work such as plumbing, construction, HVAC, electrical, etc.

This year, ten area high schools have chosen to participate in the competition. The theme is outdoor, so all school teams will bring a completed project that fits the outdoor theme. Projects will be judged the morning of the event, and the doors will be open to the public at 1:00 pm to view the projects and ask students questions. Projects can be viewed until 5:00 pm.

Also at the event, you will have the opportunity to tour Northeast State’s Technical Education Complex, a state of the art facility for individuals taking college courses to become certified in trade-related work.

Battle of the Build is a grassroots workforce development outreach of the Johnson City Area Home Builders Association that seeks to build connections between local students, teachers, employers and those who have made careers in manufacturing, trades, and supporting businesses.
