The Johnson City Area Home Builders Association’s Annual Home & Outdoor Show is the place for you to find what’s new in building, remodeling, hardscaping and most anything related to your home.

The event will open on Friday, Feb. 8 and run through Sunday, Feb. 10 at the MiniDome on the campus of ETSU. In honor of the JCAHBA’s 50th anniversary, a $50 gift card to an area business will be given away every hour the show is open. The winners will be drawn from the registrations.

Need information about a new loan or refinance? Looking to update the kitchen cabinets or do something new with the master bathroom? You’ll find the resources to answer your questions all in one place. This year’s show will feature building and renovation professionals that specialize in room additions, kitchen and bath remodeling, roofing, windows and doors along with an array of products and services to help you turn your home or yard into the home sweet home you have always wanted.

This year’s show will also feature the second annual Battle of the Build. Ten area high schools will compete in a design and build project that will be displayed, judged, and awarded during this year’s show.

Carter County combined CTE Departments, Daniel Boone High School, David Crockett High School, Elizabethton High School, Johnson County High School, Science Hill High School, and Unicoi County will present a completed project following specific rules and guidelines. Students will be present to show and demonstrate their creations to the public.

Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and interact with the products. What happens if you find a project you would like to take home? Attendees will have the option to place a bid on each project through a silent auction process. The auction will close at the end of the Show on Sunday, Feb. 10 and winning bids will be notified.

The Battle of the Build awards ceremony will be on Sunday, Feb. 10. After each project is judged by an independent panel of judges, the winners will be announced. The first-place project wins $1,000, 2nd place wins $500, and third place wins $250.

Tickets for this event will be General Admission and will be available on the days of the show. Tickets are $5 per person, per day. Children 12 and under admitted free when accompanied by paying adult.

The show opens on Friday between the hours of 4-8 p.m. Saturday’s hours are 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Sunday’s hours are 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
