A good crowd of golfers gathered at the Johnson City Country Club on Monday to have some fun for a good cause.
Participants spent a sun-soaked day on the links to raise money for the Dawn of Hope, a non-profit agency celebrating its 50th year of providing a wide array of services to people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Keeping with tradition, Ralph Bales smacked the ceremonial first tee shot before the morning and afternoon sessions.
Started in 1987, the annual tournament serves as a vital fundraiser for the organization. Prior to the start of play, Dawn of Hope’s Executive Director Lee Chase announced his impending retirement after decades of service.
