Last Friday, the folks at Wallace Imports gathered in their showroom to Share the Love, and the 17 non-profit service agencies that receive support from the Washington County United Way were the beneficiaries.

Dealership owner Steve Moore presented a check for $19,703 to United Way of Washington County President and CEO Kristan Ginnings. The money was raised during Subaru’s annual “Share the Love” event, which traditionally runs from mid-November through December.

During the event, Subaru made a $250 donation on behalf of everyone who bought a vehicle at Wallace Imports in Johnson City, and that money was then passed on to the United Way last week. More than 660 community-based charitable groups have benefited from the event nationally since it was started 10 years ago. Subaru projected that this year’s contributions will bring the total amount of money awarded to $115 million during the past decade. Wallace Imports has participated in the event for the last four years.

The funds from Subaru will be added to the money that was raised during United Way’s 2017 campaign, which was successful enough to allow the United Way of Washington County to increase the amount of money it can disburse to area non-profit service agencies.
