Science Hill’s soccer team captured the Region 1-AAA championship while the school’s baseball team punched its ticket to the state tournament.

The Hilltoppers will be joined in Murfreesboro by the University High baseball team, which also won its sectional contest last week. Science Hill’s soccer squad scored a monumental 1-0 upset over Knox Bearden in the regional finals before ending up on the wrong end of a 1-0 decision to Knox Karns in the sectional round.

Meanwhile, the Science Hill baseball team earned a wild 8-7 win over Hardin Valley to advance to the state tournament while University High won 11-0 over Harriman to earn a trip to Murfreesboro.
