After a marquee night of basketball against Daniel Boone was postponed last Thursday night, the Science Hill boys’ and girls’ basketball teams got back into the swing of things against Volunteer on Friday night.

The Hilltoppers rolled to a 73-41 Big 7 Conference win over the Falcons after the Lady Hilltoppers cruised to a 70-38 victory over the Lady Falcons.

Jerriah Love led the way with 12 points for Science Hill’s boys, who pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back to improve to 11-6 on the season. David Bryant followed up a 30-point outburst in a 63-53 win over Unicoi County on Tuesday with 11 points on Friday, and Will Stevens contributed 10 points against the Falcons.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Hilltoppers moved to 15-2 on the season thanks in large part to freshman Jelia Greenlee, who led the way with 13 points. Nyrashia Love scored 12 points while Erin Egerbrecht and Symantha Fugate added 10 each.

On Tuesday, Alasia Smith led the way for the Lady Hilltoppers with 23 points in a 52-37 win over Unicoi County. Greenlee and Egerbrecht had nine points each in the victory.

The boys and the girls remained perfect in conference play by virtue of the sweep of Volunteer.
