Jonesborough Christmas Parade a big draw

0

Despite unseasonably warm temperatures that saw many attendees dressed in t-shirts, the annual Christmas Parade in Jonesborough imbued Tennessee’s oldest town with the holiday spirit Saturday evening. Thousands of spectators watched and cheered as marching bands, costumed mascots, floats, tractors, and live animals from horses to llamas filed down Main Street. Departing from tradition, Santa Claus does not traverse the Jonesborough Parade route on a sleigh at the end of the festivities, but rather, kicks off the parade in a shiny convertible. This year’s parade was one of the largest in recent memory.
