With trees in bloom and birds in song, another sure sign of spring could be found last Saturday morning at Arthur Lady Field in Johnson City.

It was opening day for the Johnson City Major Little League, and players clad in crisp, clean uniforms ringed the infield for the ceremonial start of another baseball season. After the anthem was sung, each team was introduced as players and coaches stepped forward and offered a tip of the cap to the fans gathered in the bleachers behind home plate.

Following the presentation of awards, Maddox Anderson took the mound and fired the ceremonial first pitch to catcher Ian Adkins.
