FRIENDS, an organization for families with a member with Down syndrome, will be holding its annual Buddy Walk on Sept. 27-28.
The event will kick off on Friday, Sept. 27 with a banquet at the Carnegie Hotel, which will run from 6-8 p.m. The guest speaker will be Kayla McKeon, who will recount her experiences working as the first certified lobbyist in Washington D.C. with Down syndrome.
McKeon will also serve as the grand marshal in Saturday’s Buddy Walk. The walk is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. in the front lawn of ETSU’s Center for Physical Activity, located at 1244 Jack Vest Dr.
