Teen Book Club at JCPL
eens ages 12-18 are invited to participate in the Johnson City Public Library’s monthly teen book club. On Tuesday, January 9, participants will meet from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Storytime Room to discuss The Smell of Other People’s Houses by Bonnie Sue Hitchcock.
The Smell of Other People’s Houses tells the tale of four very different teens whose lives become entangled as they grow up in Alaska during its transition into statehood. Following the book discussion, participants will tour the Native Voices traveling exhibit located on the second floor of the library. The traveling exhibition examines the concepts of health and wellness among contemporary American Indians, Alaskan Natives, and Native Hawaiians. This event is free to attend. The first ten participants to register will receive a copy of the book to keep. Interested participants may register for the book club at the library, by phone, or via the online event calendar at www.jcpl.org. For questions or to register, contact the Youth Services desk at 423-434-4458.
