Towne Acres Elementary School recently held a pair of successful events that allowed students to spend some quality time with their parents.
On Nov. 14, the school put on a Donuts with Dad event, which was followed two days later by Muffins with Mom. Both events were well-attended and received great support. There were over 150 parents in attendance each day.
Krispy Kreme donated 500 donuts to help make Tuesday’s event possible. Meanwhile, many mothers baked the muffins used during Thursday’s event. The fathers served the mothers and children on Tuesday, returning the favor after the mothers served donuts to the fathers and kids on Tuesday.
The kids got the best end of the deal – two days of baked goods without having to serve anybody. To top it off, the kids got to take a trip to the book fair, where they were greeted by Clifford the Big Red Dog.
The PTA at Towne Acres would like to thank everyone who made the event possible. With the holiday season approaching, it was a good time to stop and spend some time with family.
